Join the Theatre Research Institute for our 2024-2025 Lawrence and Lee Invited Lecture with Burlesque performer Bella Sin. A symposium on the history and cultural significance of Burlesque will accompany the lecture. This program is sponsored by the Theatre Research Institute, the Department of Dance and the Department of Theatre, Film, and Media Arts.
This event will feature a keynote lecture from the renowned performer and historian of Queer and Latinx burlesque, Bella Sin, who will challenge the ways that burlesque has traditionally been thought about through a colonial lens. Attendees will enjoy a panel discussion with PhD candidates, Alyssa Stover and Ashley Dunn and burlesque performer Grand Mafun and learn about the significant burlesque collections in Thompson Library Special Collections at The Ohio State University.
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore a vibrant tapestry of perspectives on burlesque.
